Relive a vanished lifestyle, at 5000 feet high
Steeped in vintage decor, this centennial bungalow sits on the highest elevation of our estate. It’s also the first home we opened up for guests. There are six spacious rooms, four of which have their own veranda that opens out to a majestic view of the valley. Enjoy plantation home food in the ample dining area. Later, explore our history in the library or match wits over a board game, with the birds chirping in the trees.

Home Truths
- Sinna Dorai’s Bungalows are plantation homes, not a hotel. It is a place of warmth, quiet, and old-world simplicity.
- There are no televisions, minibars, AC, spa or pools. The views, the silence, and the slow rhythm of the hills are what we offer instead.
- Each room is designed for one or two guests only, triple occupancy is not permitted.
- Solo female travellers will find the estate is safe, the staff are attentive, and the solitude here is both peaceful and secure.
- Being in the wilderness guests are requested not to venture out unaccompanied by our staff.
- Dinner service concludes at 10:00 PM. To ensure that our staff reach their homes safely at a reasonable time. Unfortunately food cannot be left unattended in the dining area or served in the rooms as it attracts wildlife and rodents.
- If you choose to unwind with a drink, please finish dinner first and continue your evening thereafter.
- We do not serve alcohol, though guests may bring their own.
- All our rooms are non-smoking. We invite you to use the outdoor areas if you wish to smoke.
- We love animals but to keep your pets safe from the wildlife, we don’t allow them on the estate.
- It is recommended that you carry a light jacket and sturdy footwear.
- Â Cancellations- We do not offer refunds. However, if cancellations are prior to 8 days of arrival, the amount can be adjusted against a future stay within the next 6 months. Cancellations made prior to 7 days of arrival will result in forfeiture of the advance.
Activities
Subject to weather conditions and wildlife activity. The quiet rhythm of the hills is an inspiring place to slow down, reflect, and create. Our open spaces and unhurried pace lend themselves beautifully to yoga, fitness, or writers’ retreats. Small groups can be comfortably accommodated within a single bungalow, while larger gatherings of up to 26 guests may stay across our three properties, surrounded by calm and fresh mountain air.
If you cannot keep ‘innovation’, ‘strategy’ and ‘leadership’ out of your mind, use the conference facility for invigorating dialogue and out-of-the-box thinking. Organise an outdoor activity to test and strengthen your team.
The Anamalai Hills shelter a wide range of wildlife. Over 250 bird species, including the Great Indian Hornbill, make their home here. Gaurs, elephants, leopards and lion-tailed macaques are often seen. A guided evening drive in your own vehicle may hold a few surprises, always set against the calm of the hills.
Follow the winding trails through tea gardens. Gentle walks or longer hikes open out to valleys and far-reaching views. Each path is a reminder of the land’s quiet rhythm, best enjoyed at an unhurried pace.
A short drive through the estate leads to a quiet private stream. Cool your feet in the water or sit back with a cup of local tea, as the stillness of the setting slows time down.
The Anamalai Information Centre shares the stories of these hills. Simple displays and photographs bring alive the ecology, the wildlife, and the heritage of the region.

Testimonials
What they say about the #SinnadoraiExperience-
Stayed for 4 days with family, the place is neatly maintained, staffs are so courteous and are following strict covid protocols. We were taken for tour inside the estate for wildlife spotting (we did get lucky) and for spending quality time at falls, ponds, etc., One thing that stood out was food - be it the taste, be it the meticulous effort by the staff to meet everyone's needs, it was just awesome. Over all, fantastic place to stay!.Vishnu

I went to this place after reading a lot of reviews. I was not disappointed you are one with nature at this tea bungalow tucked away in sprawling tea estate..its nature nature that surrounds you.The staff are extremely specials mention to the care taker Murugan Annan for taking taking us around the estate. His patience is commendable. he must be doing this like for how long but always a smile on his face willingly to answer our umpteen questions. The rooms are big and luxurious the food wont say exotic...but simple warm home cooked meals.Susan
